New Off-Site Backup and Disaster Recovery Service

(Markham, ON) – TDCNet is now providing clients with a fast and easy alternative to backup their critical data. The new Off-Site Backup and Disaster Recovery Service is a practical and affordable solution for small and medium-sized organizations.

The backup service uses award-winning and customizable backup software that is installed on just one computer or server and will securely backup an entire network’s data remotely, using the internet. Data restoration is easy, whether it’s a single email or an entire file server. Our remote data backup service can restore your lost data.

Here are some of the benefits:

  • Worry-free service – TDCNet schedules and manages all parts of your backup needs;
  • Safe and secure – Data is encrypted with AES encryption and compressed before going off-site. It remains encrypted at all times – even when stored off-site – until it is restored back at your location.
  • Scalable and affordable – Pricing is based on the amount of data backed up so it’s a great solution whether your business has one computer or 100.
  • No more tape drives or other external devices – Hardware can fail and carrying external devices off-site every night is aggravating. Off-site backup eliminates both of these problems.
  • Protects your business – Off-site backup is an important part of your business continuity and risk management plan. It will keep your business running no matter what happens.

As part of launching this new service, TDCNet is offering a free 30-day trial of the service. Interested businesses can contact TDCNet’s sales department at (905) 947-8053.

Justin Howe Nominated For Premier’s Award

(Markham, ON) – TDCNet is pleased to announce that Justin Howe, TDCNet’s Chief Technology Officer, has been nominated for a Premier’s Excellence Award. The annual awards are presented to college graduates who have excelled in their careers and made a significant contribution to society.

Justin has been providing senior level IT advice and support to small and medium-sized organizations through the GTA for over a decade. Seneca College nominated him for the award and highlighted a number of career accomplishments including Justin being part of the team who launched TDCNet’s internet access, webhosting and email services eight years ago. He now oversees both that network and TDCNet’s IT service business, which hundreds of GTA businesses rely on every day. Justin recently led the company’s launch of Remote Proactive IT services.

“It’s an honour to be nominated for such a prestigious award by my Alma mater,” said Justin, one of two brothers who own TDCNet. “This business is my passion and I love everything to do with computers and networking. There are few things as rewarding as solving technology challenges and helping organizations run better and more securely.”

Justin graduated from Seneca College with a diploma in Computer Engineering Technology. Before joining TDCNet in 1999, he worked in the IT departments at Revenue Canada and Seneca College. Justin bought the TDCNet (formerly Toronto Datacomm and Cables) from founder Terry Loung in 2005 when Terry retired.
