How a Contracting Firm Moved Offices Over the Weekend and Had Computers Up and Running on Monday Morning Without a Hitch
The Challenge
Ferro Canada Inc., an environmental and general contracting firm, had outgrown their Markham office and needed to move to a larger space. Ferro was hoping it could move with minimal disruption to its ongoing operations and needed an IT company to handle the design, installation and configuration of the network in the new office.
The Process and the Solution
TDCNet conducted site visits to the company’s existing and new offices to map out our approach for the move. As a result of those visits and thorough consultation with Ferro staff, we developed a detailed plan with a fixed price quote for the expanded network in the new office.
TDCNet prepared the office in two stages. First, all necessary equipment was purchased, and wiring and patching was completed well in advance of the move. Then, we hooked up and configured the server and computers over the weekend to minimize the downtime experienced by staff. One of our technicians was at the office first thing Monday morning to ensure everything was up and running properly.
“We found TDCNet in the Yellow Pages and trusted them to take care of the IT side of our move. They carefully planned out their approach and worked over the weekend to ensure everything was working properly on Monday morning. We were so happy with the quality of their work that we hired them to support our network on an ongoing basis.”
